Performance and State Violence is a 2-day conference with panels focusing on the various ways performance has reacted to, was affected by, or intervened in state violence.
This conference contextualises performance analysis within broader critical theories of the state and will feature two days of panels, keynote lectures from Aylwyn Walsh and Jennifer Doyle, and performances from Vanessa Macauley and Lucy Beynon & Lisa Jeschka. Panels on Interpolation, Gendered Violence, (After)Colonialism, Policing and Performance and Authoritarianism.
This conference will be held in a mixed capacity both online and in-person. Conference tickets are free but RSVP is essential.
