People's Palace Projects (PPP) is an art research centre that brings together artists, activists, academics, and audiences to challenge social injustices. Founded on the principle of diversity, the centre promotes transformative activism through collaborative art and research. We will screen a series of films about how arts and creativity can disseminate research findings and facilitate knowledge exchange between indigenous and non-indigenous artists.

  1. We still fight in the Dark- a video-installation about Violence Against Women and Girls in Rio de Janeiro and amongst Brazilian immigrants in London. Carolina, the artist who created the film based on the findings of our research, will do a brief presentation, propose a quick activity with the audience, introduce the film and open for Q&A.

  2. More than Skin Deep- we will present a short film featuring young people with experience of the care system who performed at the BAC recently. They are working on a new film that will focus on trying to change the stigma associated with the care system.

  3. London as a Village- a film by Takuma Kuikuro regarding his experience in London and the parallels between Londoners’ lifestyle and live in an indigenous village in the Brazilian Amazon basin.

From 7pm: On site, Arts One, QM Campus.
